Partnership with Halsway Manor
Halsway Manor and NYFTE are delighted to announce they are entering into a
three-year partnership.
The agreement between Halsway Manor Society (HMS) and the National Youth Folk
Troupe of England (NYFTE) will see the two organisations working together to
develop and deliver a new regional outreach programme.
In addition to funding this initiative, Halsway Manor will be contributing to NYFTE's
core funding to support existing training and performance activities for team
members; and offer subsidised spaces for NYFTE members and alumni to attend
residential courses, allowing them to continue developing their skills towards
studying music at higher education or developing a professional career as a folk
performer or educator.
NYFTE is a charity!
In 2023, a charity known as National Youth Folk Troupe of England (also abbreviated to NYFTE) was set up and registered with Companies House and the Charity Commission. At our 2024 AGM we said thank you the interim trustees for their work in setting up the charity, and voted in nine Trustees to continue the running of the charity. It was collectively decided to transfer all the assets from the NYFTE (the existing organisation) to NYFTE (the charity). Once all the assets have been successfully transferred, then the original organisation will be wound up. The charity will operate on similar lines to the original organisation, and so most people will not notice a difference. However, it now means that we will be able to claim gift aid as well as applying for grants and other financial benefits available to charities. Once we are able to claim gift aid, we will let people know.
Our Charity Number is: 1203573
