Our Favourite Sites

Over the years we've made many friends and, by the very nature of the team, we have many ex-members who've gone on to other things in the folk world. Here's a selection:

Bedcote Morris

A Morris side based in Stourbridge.

Berkshire Bedlam

Berkshire Bedlam, renowned Cotswold Morris dancers from Wokingham in Berkshire, feature three Nyfte members and a parent.

Bristol Morris Men

Several former members dance with, or are associated with, Bristol Morris Men,

Broadstairs Folk Week

Broadstairs is a great festival on the east coast of Kent

Chippenham Folk Festival

Our 'home' festival.  NYFTE are regulars at Chippenham, and it just gets better each year.

Chippenham Town Morris Men

One of the most exciting sides to present traditional Morris dancing, now with added Nyfte member!

The English Folk Dance & Song Society

The Sage's Folkworks is a great organisation which is devoted to furthering folk music. They operate mainly in the North and are involved with a lot of youth activities.

fRoots is a monthly magazine dedicated to folk and roots music and dance, and many of the festivals we perform at are listed in it.

Otley Folk Festival

Otley is a festival run up in the north of England by two of our parents.

The Outside Capering Crew

The Crew perform exciting & funny dances to a high standard, and the Bacca Pipes dance performed by NYFTE was inspired by their version. Two Nyfte parents perform with them.

Pepper in the Brandy

This up-and-coming ceilidh band has 3 ex-members. Well worth a look (and a dance).

The Shropshire Bedlams and Martha Rhoden's Tuppeny Dish

Border Morris side from, ummm, Shropshire.  Follow the link for a great article about them by John Kirkpatrick.

A wonderful resource for folk dance and music on the internet
